Zagreb, July 23, 2023 - Excitement reaches its peak at EUSA Combat 2023 as the thrilling finals of Karate and Kickboxing are set to captivate the audience. The last day's action-packed matches will determine the champions in all categories, with the medals ceremony scheduled for the tournament's conclusion. Karate and Kickboxing medals, wisely withheld until the final day, will be bestowed upon all athletes, ensuring everyone's presence to celebrate the crowning moments of triumph. The closing ceremony awaits, promising to be a grand spectacle.

Yesterday, the spotlight was on the male KUMITE athletes as they clashed in the team competitions, vying for a spot in the semifinals and battling for the third-place honors.
Comenius University (SVK) secured the bronze in the thrilling KUMITE team battles by prevailing over Bursa Uludag University (TUR) with a 3:2 victory. Julina Enriks Poliga, a member of the triumphant Comenius University (SVK) team, expressed their elation, stating that it marks their first-ever team medal.

"Winning this bronze means a lot to us because we compete in the university games every year, and we've always fallen short in the battle for third place. This medal holds immense significance as it comes after a long period of dedication and years of training. In the end, it all worked out perfectly," emphasized Poliga.
The intense competition continues today, featuring the finals in team disciplines and the categories of -60 kg, -67 kg, -75 kg, -84 kg, and over 84 kg.

The female KUMITE competitors also displayed their skill and tenacity in the team contests, vying for semifinal berths and battling for the third spot. University of Salzburg (AUT) emerged victorious, securing the bronze by defeating Lviv State University of Physical Culture (UKR) 2:1. Istanbul Aydin University (TUR) joined the medal stand by triumphing over Manisa Celal Bayar University with a 2:1 scoreline.
Today, the spotlight shines on the finals in team disciplines and the categories of -50 kg, -55 kg, -61 kg, -68 kg, and over 68 kg.

The first day of Karate saw morning battles in Kate and afternoon clashes in Kumite, progressing from lighter to heavier categories, with the finals scheduled for the last day of the tournament.

Kickboxing
The grand finale of EUSA Combat 2023 Kickboxing commences today with gripping matches in Full Contact, K-1, Lite Contact, and Point Fight. Following the thrilling showdowns, the medals will be awarded to all tournament participants. So far, the competition witnessed intense matches up to the semifinals and the fight for third place in all categories. The closing ceremony awaits, signifying the successful conclusion of the tournament.
