Judo's Grand Finale: Sumy State University Seals Gold at EUSA Combat

ZAGREB, July 23, 2023 - On the thrilling final day of EUSA Combat 2023, the Judo competition blazes with fierce team matches between universities. With the individual categories concluded in the previous two days, the stage was set for an exhilarating showdown.

In a gripping final, Sumy State University from Ukraine triumphed with a resounding 4-1 victory over Windesheim University of Applied Sciences (NED), securing the gold medal.
Olekssi Boldyriev, representing Sumy State University emphasized that this victory marks their university's second consecutive gold medal. "This is our university's second consecutive gold medal, and we couldn't be happier and more excited about it. Our strong determination to win and fearlessness in the face of challenges led us to victory in the final," Boldyriev proudly stated.

The first bronze medal went to University Vasile Alecsandri of Bacau (ROM), who defeated University of Orleans with a score of 4:3. The second bronze medal was claimed by University of Sarajevo (BIH), securing victory in the third-place final against Technical University of Darmstadt with a score of 4:2.
